Dad’s Review

A brilliant game that all ages enjoy, I have as much fun playing with my friends as I do my 4 & 7 year old. If you were like me and always wanted to play Subbuteo but found it too much faff having to iron out the pitch (and not break the players) this is the perfect alternative.

The rules are so simple that anyone can get playing straight away, and the fact the balls are not perfectly spherical means they act in unpredictable ways, making even games against my 4 year old competitive.

The one downside is the price. It’s certainly more than I was comfortable paying, but once we started playing I had no regrets.

Lads Review

Our 4 year old and 7 year old both love playing, it’s so easy to understand and play. Tantrum risk is quite high on this game with is being 1v1, the ball often bounces back out of the goal when flicked hard which obviously causes arguments about whether it was a goal or not.

Flick the coin to see who goes first, the winner then starts by placing the ball on the square in their area and flicking it towards the oppositions goal. You then alternate turns, taking one flick each time. If you concede a goal you have to remove one of your players/pegs. The loser is the first person to remove all of their pegs including the goal keeper.

If the ball gets flicked out of the pitch, or you accidentally double touch the ball, your opponent gets two flicks starting from the square in their area.

We sometimes add these alternate rules:

Version 1: If you score you get to choose which peg is removed.

Version 2: If you score you get to choose to make your opponent remove a peg or you can bring one of your removed players back instead.

I’ve seen reviews complaining about the balls not being perfectly spherical, but this is actually part of the games charm. They act in unpredictable ways making the game a bit more chaotic and fun, especially when playing against my 4 year old.
